2018/2019 SHUTDOWN INFORMATION PAGE

Dear Arizona and Nevada Communities, Businesses, and Patriots,

Majority of TSA employees in Arizona and Nevada are Union Members of our Local. We wish we could support everyone of them, but the reality is, we can’t. A tremendous support has been received from passengers, shareholders in the airport industry towards TSA employees at airports in Arizona and Nevada. The support does not extend to the home, to their families. If you or your organization is in a position to donate to our Emergency Relief Fund, please do. All funds received from donations will be distributed to Union Members on a priority basis (Single parents with kids, parents with kids where both parents are TSA employees, etc.).

Please contact us at [email protected] ! Thank you for your support!

Dear Union Members and Bargaining Unit Employees,

It is a sad time that we have to post resources for Union Members and TSA Employees to obtain aid during this partial shutdown. Below you will find information that potentially can assist you and your loved ones. Anything Helps right now!

LCSA, AFL-CIO

As the Shutdown grinds on into record breaking territory, the need for assistance and relief among a large number of our members is reaching critical mass. To that end, the AZ AFL-CIO through the Labors Community Service Agency (LCSA), is trying to coordinate resources for those members hardest hit by the Shutdown. The LCSA has experience in this area having, just recently, run the Emergency Relief Fund for the #Red for ED campaign here in Arizona. The AZ AFL-CIO has tasked them to do the same with the shutdown. LCSA is asking that you distribute this to your members in need. Once completed and signed by a local officer you can forward them via fax to LCSA. Because there are limited funds and resources, the LCSA staff will assess the applications and direct resources based on need using the same criteria they used during the #RED for ED campaign. Resource distribution will begin on Monday January 21st, 2019. At this point, resources and cash are limited and the most that can be awarded is the equivalent of $100.00 total in goods, gift cards and cash until we either get more donations or the fund runs dry. There is an active solicitation campaign for donations going on throughout the labor community and elsewhere so as donations increase so to will the amount of relief we can give to hurting members.

In order to obtain the form, please download the form from the sub-page under the shutdown info, fill it out, and email the completed form to [email protected] . A union official will verify your current member status and finalize the form, submitting it to the LCSA. Please note: You have to be a Union Member to qualify for the assistance program through the LCSA. Please join if you are not!
